What Drives Her Luncheon & Panel At The Chicago Auto Show

chicago auto show

I had the pleasure of attending the What Drives Her Luncheon and Panel at this year’s Chicago Auto Show. I attended the luncheon 2 years ago and was honored to be able to attend again this year. The women that graced us with their presence on the panels and at our tables was amazing. It was wonderful to hear about all the wonderful things women are doing in the automotive industry.

The first panel discussion was all about how women are driving change in the auto industry. We had the honor of having Michelle Krebs, Executive Analyst at AutoTrader.com moderating. The panelists were Jessica Petty, Manager of Customer Data Analytics, Hyundai; Edie Wines, National Automobile Dealers Association; and Tania Wingfield, Vice President of Engineering, Power Drive Systems, BorgWarner. The most interesting thing about these women was how most of them started out doing something totally non-related to the automotive industry and fell into it.

Before the last panel we learned all about the #SeeHer Initiative that the Association of National Advertisers created. This presentation was presented by Lan Phan and she did a great job!

The last panel was a personal favorite because it was a topic that is discussed by me and my friends all the time. The women of this panel talked about work, life, and creating balance while building a career. The moderator was Jennifer Newman, Editor-in-Chief, Cars.com. The panelists were Kathy Gilbert, CDK Global Director of Sales & Business Development; Laurie King, Turtle Wax SVP, Global Operations & Strategic Solutions; Subi Ghosh, Senior Director of Dealer Strategy, Stream Companies; Lauren Brandt, Facebook Client Solutions Manager and Returnity Project Co-founder; and Kerri Wise, Vice President, Industry Education and Relations, TrueCar.
