Ask Dr. Renee: National Condom Month FC2 Female Condom

female condoms

FC2 got its name because it is the 2nd generation of the female condoms. The 1st generation was made of latex and now FC2 is made of nitrile. Nitrile is completely latex free and thinner than latex and will feel like a second skin.

FC2 is not available on the store shelves. A prescription is needed to get FC2 but if you have health insurance there is no co-pay $0. You can ask your Ob/Gyn or Family Practice doctor to write you a prescription or you can utilize the Hey Doctor app in these states where AK, AZ, CA, CT, FL, GA, IL, IN, KY, MO, MT, NE, NY, NC, OH, OR, PA, RI, SC, TN, TX, VT, VA, WA, WI and WY (more states coming soon).

Here you can see exactly what FC2 Female Condoms looks like and see a demonstration on how to use it. Thank you again BlackDoctor.org for this opportunity. If you have any questions or comments about FC2 please leave them here or send me a message via my site or facebook page.
