What Inspires You To Keep Going?

This is part of a sponsored collaboration with Prudential and DiMe Media. However, all opinions  expressed are my own.

I recently attended this amazing Prudential event. Prudential has been motivating women for financial success with their #WomenInspired campaign. This was a great event where we had candid talk with our girlfriends about our financial success as bloggers and entrepreneurs. We had a great entrepreneur, Michelle Williams lead the discussion as well as Cameka Smith of BOSS Network and Dorinda Walker of Prudential.

As you know my hashtag is #LiveLifeYouDeserve so I was chimed in on what inspired me to keep on this faith walk that is now my life. I have a few inspirations and Prudential has been helping me to keep to stay on that path.

I am inspired everyday because I have my younger sister Alycia AKA Foodie Engineer who is watching my every move. I want her to understand that she can live the life she deserves just like her big sister. I want her to be able to be financial free from working her day job so that she can do what inspires her which is all things related to food. The girls I work with in my volunteer work inspire me as well. I want to continue to show them thru my actions that anything you dream about you can bring about. Any idea can become a dream and then a goal. Prudential has been helping me by providing me with an amazing financial planner who has made me look at my finances and figure out how to achieve my goals. We talked about how important it is to have a financial plan and to execute the plan. It is very important to have a beneficiary to your assets, create a will as soon as you own anything you need to allocate your assets and make certain that your passwords and important papers are in a place where someone in your family knows so that GOD forbid something happen to you, they can take care of everything. It was so great listening to the ladies discuss their different blogs and businesses and how they have grown them from nothing. Michelle talked about how she had to giveaway some bedding at the beginning but now she has to fund her business so she has to sell and put money back in her business.  It is very important when you are an entrepreneur that you have someone that you can call and help inspire and motivate you when you are not feeling so great. There are times when it seems like no doors are opening and you need someone to help you get thru that time. Many of the ladies had not thought about retirement yet and we talked about how that is a motivator for some of us to keep going and don’t stop. It is so important that we think about retirement and get a financial plan. I am very happy working with my Prudential planner and very confident that I will be prepared for retirement when the time comes. If you know me you know I have no desire to retire but I will definitely leave a legacy for my family. Legacy was another discussion that inspires me to keep going. I know that my parents have made certain that we will be fine when they are no longer here but when I get married and have children I want my kids to not have to worry about burying me and also have something to “remember me by”. This was such an amazing experience I met people I would not have met otherwise and talk about something that is very near and dear to my heart. I want everyone to be happy. I want everyone to succeed. I just want everyone to #LiveLifeYouDeserve. Please share with me what inspires you to keep going day to day.
