Stand With Planned Parenthood

I gladly stand with Planned Parenthood! Planned Parenthood is very much needed in many communities because it is affordable, high quality health care for women, men and young people and the nation’s largest provider of sex education. Here are some reasons why this organization is so important to this country.

SCREENINGS

Picture 1 of 3

In 2014, Planned Parenthood health centers saw 2.5 million patients and provided more than 4 million sexually transmitted tests and treatment, more than 360,000 breast exams, more than 270,000 Pap tests, and birth control for 2 million people. Of Planned Parenthood patients in 2014, 15 percent were Black and 23 percent were Latino.

While I was studying to be a doctor I was blessed to remain on my parents insurance until I graduated. I had several classmates and friends who did not have the privilige of staying on their parents insurance thru college and graduate school. This clinic is a wonderful transition place for health care when students are in college or recent graduates. Planned Parenthood was often a great place to continue to receive their annual exams so they could make certain they remained healthy.
